Unemployment in the UK is at a record high, with almost 3m people out of work across the country. A disproportionately high number of these individuals are young people. CR0Tech will work hard to directly and indirectly create and promote jobs in the borough.

We have just launched a fledgling Croydon Technology Jobs board, which will be enhanced in the months ahead. It will enable members to list technology related employment opportunities in Croydon, at no cost. Non members, can list a job opportunity for £10.

Our efforts for the remainder of 2011 will focus on securing sponsorship and funding. We then hope to open a physical hub in Croydon including a Coffee Shop, coworking space and more. We expect to create 6 full time and 8 part-time jobs as soon as our premises are opened. This will double by the end of 2012.

Once the hub is open and we have a team in place to run CR0Tech we will scale up efforts to attract new businesses and new Jobs to Croydon. We have tentative agreements with several companies which will create an additional 25 new full time technology and media related jobs in the borough by March 2012.
